Hoopers
Discover one of New Zealand's newest and fastest-growing dog sports!
Hoopers is a fun, low-impact sport that focuses on teamwork, communication, and distance handling. Dogs learn to navigate flowing courses made up of hoops, archways, barrels and gates while being guided by their handler using verbal cues and body language. With no jumps or contact equipment, Hoopers is suitable for a wide range of dogs and handlers, making it an excellent option for those looking for a fun activity that builds confidence, focus and a strong working partnership.
Our Hoopers class is held on Thursdays at 6:00pm and is taught by Denise and Maureen. Whether you're interested in training for fun or exploring a new canine sport, Hoopers offers an enjoyable challenge for both dog and handler.
As with our agility programme, dogs and handlers are required to attend Canine Good Citizen (CGC) classes alongside Hoopers training. If you do not wish to attend CGC, please speak with a trainer to discuss dogs suitability.
